Prices For Range Rover Sport SVR And Range Rover SVAutobiography Announced; Bookings Underway

It is worth noting that Land Rover India website also lists another engine option as part of the Range Rover Sport’s kitty. That one is a 2.0-litre Si4 turbo-petrol engine that produces 300PS/400Nm and also comes mated to an 8-speed automatic. 0-100kmph is dealt with in 7.3 seconds and the top speed is clocked at 201kmph. Although prices haven’t surfaced yet, this engine will be offered in three variants – S, SE and HSE. Land Rover fanatics must have figured this one out by now that the very same engine, in the same state of tune, is also available in the Range Rover Velar.

Anyway, over to the Range Rover now. As before, it is available in both the standard and long wheelbase (LWB) configurations. The standard Range Rover borrows all the engine-transmission options from the Range Rover Sport, apart from the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol that is on offer with the SVAutobiography Dynamic variant. It is tuned to produce 566PS/700Nm and is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is the same engine, in the same tune, that is also on offer with the LWB SVAutobiography variant.

India-Bound 2019 Land Rover Discovery Unveiled

Other changes in these refreshed Range Rover siblings include:

  • New Atlas mesh grille design
  • Pixel-laser LED headlights
  • Touch Pro Duo infotainment system
  • Power-deployable centre console for rear seats
  • ‘Hot-stone’ massage function
  • Heated seats
  • Gesture-controlled sunblind operation
  • Air ioniser
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist

Both models come to India via the direct import route. And that’s why they are in a price bracket where only the Maserati Levante, Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and the Toyota Land Cruiser are placed. This rivalry will gain another player in the form of the new Porsche Cayenne soon.
