The Grand i10 Nios is a potent contender in its space. And most of it is down to the fact that there are three engine options available – two petrol and one diesel. So, there’s enough choice for people who want a sensible and reliable hatchback as a city runabout. Now, however, they will be spoilt for even more options. This is because Hyundai has just introduced two new variants of the car in question, both as ‘Corporate Edition’. Here are the prices:

  • 1.2 Petrol MT Corporate Edition – INR 6.29 Lakh
  • 1.2 Petrol AMT Corporate Edition – INR 6.98 Lakh

Going by their name, the new derivatives won’t stick around for long. However, they offer a better-rounded package than the Magna trim on which they are based. So, the newcomers come with extra stuff, such as 15-inch wheel covers with gunmetal finish, roof rails, chrome garnish at the rear, ‘Corporate’ emblem, black electric ORVMs with turn indicators and a glossy black grille (for all colours). Indoors, there’s an all-black theme with red inserts and a 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system with onboard navigation and Smartphone mirroring. And you pay INR 20,000 more for all that additional stuff over the comparable Magna variants.

Coming to the engine, that’s the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol mill. It sends 82bhp/114Nm to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). The petrol-MT combo here is the same that’s also available with the CNG variant. Hyundai could have introduced the Corporate Edition with the CNG option. Perhaps, that will come in later.

Besides the features mentioned above, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nio Corporate Edition has the same gizmos as the Magna trim. The list includes LED DRLs, central locking, a headlamp escort system, speed-sensing auto door locks and a roof antenna.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is a direct rival of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Tiago and even the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. Would you opt for the Hyundai out of the lot?
