Saar: They confirm our speculation. In all the teasers, the S1 that has flaunted its loutish existence.

We’d like to start this piece with an apology. We weren’t paying attention when Audi released the third teaser of the all-new A1 hatch on Friday, June the 15. But we want you all to stay updated with what is turning out to be the most aggressive teasing programme of a car, EVER. Yesterday, the marketing maniacs over at Audi AG released yet another teaser for their smallest hatch. Let’s unravel at what these two teasers are trying to flaunt. Here’s the first one, which released on Friday:

Football fever has taken over the world. And why not! The biggest footballing event is currently on with pride of several nations resting on their national soccer teams. Audi recognises that because it, like other German automakers, must be supporting the team which lost to Mexico 1 – 0. Anyway, back to the teaser. Apart from the spinning football, the blurred image of a car in the back has a dual-tone exterior. That’s exactly what we thought of when the first teaser of the new Audi A1 came out a few days ago. Other than the black-and-yellow paint job, Audi’s signature grille, which is flanked by two large air inlets, dominates the front. In the details, Audi also mentioned that the A1 will get up to 200PS on tap and will also house a new suspension setup.

With that out the way, let’s move to the second teaser, which takes the total to four:

In this one, the body colour accents on the inside are visible on the centre console and the door handle housing. Another thing to notice is that that yellow inserts on the AC vents have a blue-ish lining right on the edge. Audi has been cocky enough to match that colour with the nail polish on the woman’s hand. The design cues that confirm it to be an ‘S’ guise of the A1 include the door sills, with the letter S and the red colour behind it, and the sporty pedals, which are finished in metal with rubberised surfaces.

While we want to say that the next marketing stint for the Audi A1 will reveal the car completely, we won’t put our money on it. We could very well see more one- or two-second teasers popping up in the coming days. Rest assured, whatever happens on the A1 front, we’ll keep you lot posted.
