The wait is finally over! After opening the bookings counter last month, Audi India has revealed the prices of the refreshed Q7. As reported earlier, the SUV is available in two variants – Premium Plus and Technology. Their prices are Rs 79.99 lakh and Rs 88.33 lakh, respectively.

There’s no other way of saying it – the new Audi Q7 is late to join the party here in India. The primary reason is, of course, the disruptions caused by the pandemic. That said, Audi’s most spacious SUV does have a lot to offer. And, like all other models (barring those with an e-tron badge)  it shares the showroom space with, the Q7 is now a petrol-only offering.

It doesn’t matter which of the two variants you settle for; the SUV will come with the same powertrain. That comprises a 3.0-litre, turbocharged V6 engine that pumps out 335bhp/500Nm, and 8-speed automatic transmission that routes the oomph to all four wheels. Also, there’s a 48-volt mild-hybrid system in the mix, aiding mileage and acceleration. With all bits doing their job perfectly, the Audi Q7 can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 5.9 seconds and top out at 250kmph (electronically limited). For the record, the same engine-transmission combo also does duty in the A8 L Luxo barge.

Coming to the list of features, the new Audi Q7 offers stuff like Adaptive Air Suspension, Audi Drive Select, dynamic indicators, and Matrix LED headlamps. Inside the cabin, the SUV packs four-zone automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.6-inch display for various car functions. Other features, such as an air ionising system, 30-colour ambient lighting, Hill Hold Control, cruise control and a Bang & Olufsen sound system, are also available.

Rivals? Well, there are many. For example, the new Audi Q7 locks horns with the Land Rover Discovery, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Volvo XC90 and the BMW X5. Out of the lot, which one gets your vote of confidence?
