This year’s festive period is shaping up to be one of the most exciting ones in the recent part for car buyers in India. In a bid to spice-up the celebratory mood, Maruti Suzuki has launched the WagonR Limited Edition. To create it, the company is offering two optional accessories kits at prices of Rs 15,490 and Rs 25,490, both of which are considerably lower than the market prices. In other words, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR Limited Edition is not a new, short-term variant. Essentially, the Indo-Japanese carmaker is offering discounts on its accessory kits.

So, what do you get for the extra money? The hatchback comes with body graphics and a rear spoiler on the outside. On the inside, the extra money spent brings faux wood inserts on door panels and the dashboard, swanky seat covers, matching steering wheel cover, branded floor mats and a set of cushions. On the features front, Maruti Suzuki will install a double-din music system with speakers and reverse parking sensors. Pretty neat!

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is available in three trim levels – Lxi, Vxi and Vxi+. All three house a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine that, on petrol, puts out 68PS/90Nm. They are also available with factory-installed CNG kits. In Vxi and Vxi+ trims, the power figure on CNG remains the same as mentioned above. However, in Lxi trim, the CNG-powered engine returns 59PS/77Nm. While all three trims are available with a 5-speed manual transmission, only the Vxi and Vxi+ trims can be had with an AMT (automated manual transmission). On CNG, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR returns 26.6km/kg and on petrol, the hatchback’s claimed mileage is 20.51kmpl.

Since its launch in the year 1999, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR has racked-up 21.9 lakh sales. Maruti Suzuki claims that over 24 per cent of WagonR customers in India have bought the car more than once. During the April-September period of the current year, the company sold over 85,000 units of the WagonR. It continues to be amongst India’s top five bestselling cars month-on-month.

It isn’t just the WagonR that Maruti Suzuki has touted-up for the festive period. The company is also offering the Ignis with a discounted accessory kit and recently introduced a special edition of the Swift.
