Saar: Several dealers across the country are accepting bookings with a minimum, refundable amount ranging between Rs 20,000 – 25, 000.

Several spy pics of the refreshed Hyundai Creta are doing rounds on the internet. Some even portray that the facelift model has started reaching dealerships as well. Well, that wasn’t the case with any of the dealers we spoke to but they all have started entertaining bookings for the Hyundai Creta facelift. Of course, these are unofficial in nature as Hyundai is yet to announce the commencement of bookings for the upcoming SUV. The minimum, refundable booking amount is ranging between Rs 20,000 – 25,000. So, if you are tired of waiting, you can get your booking in place and get the mid-life update of the Hyundai Creta from the first production lot.

If not, we’ll be more than happy to run a summary by you. Mechanically, the Hyundai Creta facelift will remain unaltered. That means, covering two transmission options and three engine options, a total of five engine-transmission combinations will be on offer. The 1.4-litre diesel will only be offered with the 6-speed manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines will get the option of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. As far as firepower is concerned, the 1.4-litre diesel will produce 90PS/220Nm, whereas the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines will have 123PS/150Nm and 128PS/260Nm on tap respectively.

Apart from some cosmetic changes on the outside, a bunch of new features will make the Hyundai Creta facelift a lot more desirable than before. The list of new features includes electrically adjustable driver’s seat, electric sunroof, wireless mobile phone charger, smartkey band and support for Hive and iBlue apps.

Once launched, it will revive its rivalry with the Renault siblings, Duster and Captur, and the Nissan Terrano. Additionally, it will take on the new range of the Ford EcoSport and also worry the Jeep Compass. Price-wise, all variants of the Hyundai Creta facelift are expected to cost between Rs 30,000 – 40,000 more than the corresponding ones of the outgoing model.
