Yesterday, we saw the unveiling of the first-ever N Line model from Hyundai India. It was, of course, the i20 N Line. But, unfortunately, one aspect wasn’t covered in that story – the list of variants. So, without further ado, here’s the choice for buyers. Hyundai has devised two trim levels for the model in question – N6 and N8. The variants list is as follows:

  • N6 Turbo-iMT
  • N6 Turbo-iMT Dual Tone
  • N8 Turbo-iMT
  • N8 Turbo-iMT Dual Tone
  • N8 Turbo-DCT
  • N8 Turbo-DCT Dual Tone

Those dual-tone derivatives are available in two exterior finishes – Thunder Blue with Phantom Black roof and Fiery Red with Phantom Black roof. The remaining variants are available in four monotone shades – Thunder Blue (new and exclusive), Fiery Red, Titan Grey and Polar White.

Obviously, the difference between the trims is their list of features. The N8 gets you some extra stuff over the N6, including side and curtain airbags, puddle lamps, electrochromic IRVM, LED DRLs, cornering lights, red ambient lighting and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Blue Link. That said, the N6 still offers a plethora of features. The list comprises a tyre pressure monitoring system, rear disc brakes, auto headlamps, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, electric sunroof and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. And yes, both feature wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity as well.

Under the bonnet, there’s a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that pumps out 118bhp/172Nm. You can have it coupled to a 6-speed iMT (intelligent Manual Transmission) in both trim levels. However, those who want a 7-speed DCT will have to stick with the range-topping N8 derivative. With the former, the claimed mileage is 20kmpl. The figure jumps to 20.25kmpl for the dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Hyundai’s accepting bookings for the i20 N Line, with the minimum token amount pegged at Rs 25,000. Expect it to launch during the first week of September 2021.
