Saar: One is a video, which gives us a glimpse of the dashboard and the other is a still of the home charging kit for the pure electric vehicle.

It seems then the folks from Stuttgart won’t stop teasing the Mercedes-Benz EQC until the D-Day, which is September 4, 2018. After teasing the front and rear ends of the highly anticipated zero-emissions car, the German carmaker has now dropped two more teasers on its social media group. One is a video, which gives us a glimpse of the dashboard layout and the other is a still of the home charging kit, which is officially called as the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox Home, for the EQC. The still also gives us a blurry view of the EQC’s rear end.

Here, treat yourself with the video first:

Mercedes-Benz is flipping the switch: On September 4th, we will present our first all-electric Mercedes-Benz model of our new EQ brand. Here’s a design detail of the interior. #switchtoEQMore about EQ here: mb4.me/MercedesBenz_EQ

If you think that interior is too similar to other, new-gen models from Mercedes-Benz then you are absolutely and 100 per cent… correct. Another putting-off aspect is the fact that the interiors don’t seem to match the exuberance levels of the exteriors. Sure, there’s the big slab of glass with two massive displays on the top of the dashboard. The one behind the steering wheel acts as the instrument cluster with various settings to suit the driver’s need, while the one that sits at the top of the central section of the dashboard looks very much like a tweaked version of the MBUX infotainment system.

We were expecting the dashboard to be futuristic and without any old-school physical buttons. But then doesn’t seem to be the case. Sure, the turbine-shaped AC vents that we’ve seen on the newer Mercs have not made it into the EQC’s recipe. It looks like the rectangular AC vents in the pure electric vehicle are accompanied by the engine starter button. It being electric, there will not be any noise to support the action. The steering wheel is a direct lift from the costly range of new-age Mercedes-Benz models.

With the dashboard out of the way, let’s look at the next teaser.

As you can see, Mercedes-Benz has faded out the EQC’s rear and focused on that black box on the wall. It, as we mentioned earlier, will be called as the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox Home and it will be available as an optional extra from summer 2018. The company claims that it can deliver a charging rate of up to 22kW, which should help the on-board batteries to charge much faster than the standard mains socket. Pricing and more specifications of this accessory will be released closer to the official launch.

We, of course, won’t let the faded part of the above photograph fade away. The EQC’s rear has finally caught some light. That strip of blue light was caught in red colour in the previous teaser. Our guess would be that the strip changes its colour from blue to red only under a braking manoeuvre. The blacked-out panel that spreads across the width of the tailgate accentuates the light strip and the three-pointed star in the centre.

With only a few days to go before the car make its world debut, expect Mercedes-Benz to release more details in the form of such teasers. We’ll keep an eye out for those so that you don’t have to!
