Saar: Just like the front, the rear has LED arrays spread across the full width of the pure electric SUV.

It seems Mercedes-Benz has been running behind schedule for the teaser campaign of its first-ever pure electric car – the EQC. Almost a month ago, the company confirmed that the EQC will make its world premiere at the @Me Convention in Stockholm on September 4, 2018. However, the first official teaser without any camouflage only surfaced a couple of days ago. With less than a week to go for the grand unveiling ceremony in Sweden, Mercedes-Benz has released another teaser video. Here it is:

Mercedes-Benz is flipping the switch: On September 4th, we will present our first all-electric Mercedes-Benz model of our new EQ brand. Here's a design detail of the rear. #switchtoEQMore about EQ here: mb4.me/MercedesBenz_EQ

Yes. After giving us a glimpse of what the front end will look like, the company has now flaunted the rear end of the EQC. Just like the front end, the rear has LED arrays spread across the full width of the car. The obvious difference is the colour, with white at the front and red at the rear. The taillamp enclosures at either end comprise of two sections, with one mounted on the boot lid. Apart from that, the 15-second video also gives away the aerodynamic curvature of the EQC.

As we reported earlier, the confirmed set of specifications are still with Mercedes-Benz only. All we can play or speculate with are the ones which were released with the concept vehicle of the EQC. It had a 70kWh battery pack which, as per Mercedes-Benz, was good enough for a travel range of over 400km on a single charge. Powering all four wheels of the pure electric SUV were two electric motors. Each motor had around 150kW of oomph, taking the total up to 300kW or 408PS in our world.

Expect Mercedes-Benz to equip the EQC with fast- and wireless-charging capabilities too. But before we get to know everything about the production-ready EQC, expect the Stuttgart-based automaker to release more such teasers until the D-day.
