In a bid to liven up the Vitara Brezza’s line-up, Maruti Suzuki has launched a Sports Limited Edition. Neither it is a new variant nor it is a limited-run iteration. In fact, it comprises of an accessories package that costs Rs 29,990 and the same can be opted for on top of any standard trim – L, V, Z or Z+. For the record, the ex-showroom Delhi price list starts at Rs 7.68 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 10.65 lakh.

So, what all stuff can you get in the Vitara Brezza Sports Limited Edition? The cost can be settled against accessories like new seat covers, designer mats, cladding all around, body graphics, front and rear garnish, leather steering wheel cover, door sill-guard and neck cushions, among others. All these additions can also be retrofitted to an existing Vitara Brezza and, if you don’t want to spend that much accessorising the SUV, head over to the iCreate section and go à la carte.

The Vitara Brezza is, by a long way, the bestselling SUV in India. And not just in its segment! Over the course of last fiscal year, Maruti Suzuki retailed nearly 1.58 lakh units of the sub-4 metre SUV. As per the company, the Vitara Brezza has a market share of over 44 per cent in its segment. Launched in 2016, the SUV surpassed the 4-lakh sales milestone in 35 months. Till date, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 4.35 lakh units of it.

The SUV is currently available with only a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which can be paired to a 5-speed MT or an AMT. Maruti Suzuki announced earlier this year that it will not offer any diesel-fed models from April 1, 2020. In other words, it won’t be upgrading the diesel engine that currently powers the Swift, Dzire, Baleno, S-Cross and the Vitara Brezza. What that means is that the Vitara Brezza will soon get a BSVI-compliant (Bharat Stage VI) petrol engine. In all probability, it will be the 1.5-litre mill that powers the Ertiga and the Ciaz.
