The Indian arm of the South Korean carmaker Hyundai has introduced ‘Shield of Trust’. It is essentially a car maintenance program, one that offers something no other add-on does. What? It covers the replacement of fourteen wear-and-tear parts, such as brakes, belts, hoses, wipers, bulbs, clutch, etc., across nine models. Those who opt for it can avail benefits through any authorized Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) dealership in India.

Each car has five coverage options under ‘Shield of Trust’. They are 2 Years/40,000km, 3 Years/45,000km, 4 Years/45,000km, 4 Years/60,000km and 5 Years/60,000km. As you’d expect, the prices will vary depending on the model and the package’s duration.

Here’s what Tarun Garg, who is the director of sales, marketing and service at HMIL, said in an official release:

Hyundai is a customer-centric organization focused on offering the best ownership experience.  We have launched Hyundai Shield of Trust to provide uninterrupted and long term peace of mind to our customers thereby making them our Lifetime Partners.

The ‘Shield of Trust’ package is available only with new car purchases. Customers can purchase it anytime between the car buying date and before the scheduled first free service. So, if you think about it, the car’s warranty covers all the major stuff and the new maintenance pack ropes in the wear-and-tear parts. The combination of them will take that “peace of mind” to a whole new level.

This year HMIL is celebrating its silver jubilee. In other words, the 25th anniversary. On the products front, we know that it is in the final stages of launching a three-row version of the Creta. That will rival the Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector Plus and the recently launched Tata Safari. Expect Hyundai also to introduce the mid-life update of the Santro. Alongside, it will further bolster its sales and service network, both online as well as offline.
