Seamless and tail-made connectivity with a car’s infotainment system has become one of the most sought-after features for customers when they are out hunting for their new ride. Hence carmakers, which particularly have more of their bestselling products above the Rs 10 lakh mark, have to ensure that this particular need is met, albeit in just one trim of their vehicle. That’s what Mahindra has done. At the time of launch, the Marazzo’s infotainment system was only compatible with Android Auto. Now though, the homegrown automaker has updated the infotainment system and it now comes with Apple CarPlay compatibility.

The Mahindra Marazzo comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen display in two trims – M6 and M8. Only the range-topping M8 trim gets the support for Android- and iOS-based mobile phones. This addition, thankfully, hasn’t had any impact on the asking price. The Mahindra Marazzo M8, which is only available with a 7-seat layout, is priced at Rs 13.90 lakh. Mahindra is still holding on to the introductory price list, which starts at Rs 9.99 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom India). As for the customers who have already purchased the Mahindra Marazzo in its top-spec trim, they can get their infotainment systems upgraded at no additional cost by visiting their nearest Mahindra dealership.

It was about a week ago when Mahindra announced that the Marazzo’s bookings count has surpassed the 10,000-mark in approximately a month-and-a-half. The MPV, which falls in the gap between the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta, has been gaining good press. It, along with a feature-loaded cabin, comes with a new 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that puts out 123PS/300Nm. At the moment, the only transmission you can get with that engine is a 6-speed manual. Mahindra has confirmed that options of a petrol engine and an automatic transmission will be introduced by the first quarter of 2020.
