To further strengthen its presence in the booming metropolis of Bengaluru, Mercedes-Benz India today inaugurated another workshop. And this new one is a bit different. More on that later. First, let’s get the specifics out of the way. The newly opened facility is the third for Akshaya Motors. For Mercedes-Benz India, on the other hand, it is the fourth workshop in Karnataka’s capital. Spread over 20,000 sq.ft. and run by 50 professionals, the service centre has 11 bays and can serve more than 4,500 cars every year, including the EQ range. All-in-all, it attracted an investment of Rs 4.5 crore.

Now, over to some aesthetics. The facility in question is the first in southern India that dons Mercedes-Benz’ new brand presentation – MAR 2020. It has four key pillars – design, architecture, customer-oriented processes and digital enhancements. In other words, Mercedes-Benz has adopted an approach that blends the physical and digital means to offer a more rounded customer experience. One particular highlight is the option for customers to drive directly to the service bay, where the professionals take over for further proceedings.

That’s not all! Mercedes-Benz India has also taken the opportunity to relaunch Premium Express Prime 2.0 (PEP). It is a service programme designed specifically for those who are in a bit of a hurry. So, those availing it can expect to get their car serviced in under three hours. However, if the team cannot ready the car before the deadline for some reason, the service will be free of cost. Obviously, there are some conditions attached to that claim.

Under PEP, there are pre-defined services available. For example, Type A covers oil filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, coolant-antifreeze mixture ratio check, and cleaning and washing. Type B is the same but with added services like fuel filter check and air filter replacement. And yes, PEP also covers wheel balancing and brake discs/pads replacement. Mercedes-Benz India will roll out PEP across the country but in a phased manner. It will cover 18 outlets in 11 cities by the end of the first quarter of 2022.
