In the first week of April this year, Jaguar started accepting bookings for the refreshed F-Pace in India. Had it not been for the second wave of the pandemic, the carmaker had plans to start deliveries in May. But you know what they say – better late than never. Jaguar has today revealed the prices. The SUV arrives in just two variants, one each in petrol and diesel guise. Both carry a sticker price of Rs 69.99 lakh, which is a bit more than before. That said, the new derivatives are in R-Dynamic S form. That means a sportier outlook and more kit as standard.

The diesel-fed F-Pace packs a 2.0-litre unit with mild-hybrid tech. With 201bhp/430Nm on tap, the SUV can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 8 seconds and reach 210kmph flat out. Those who prefer a petrol-powered F-Pace will also get a 2.0-litre mill producing 247bhp/365Nm. That’s enough for a 0-100kmph sprint time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 217kmph. Both powerplants come coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

Features? The F-Pace offers stuff like 19-inch glossy-grey alloy wheels, a Meridian sound system mated to an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and wireless mobile charging with a phone signal booster. The list also includes a fixed panoramic sunroof, a 40:20:40 split rear seat, four-zone climate control, powered tailgate, and a 12-way powered driver’s seat with memory function. The F-Pace packs several safety gizmos too. A 3D-surround camera, cruise control with speed limiter, heated and electrically operated ORVMs with auto-dimming function, front and rear parking sensors, and a driver condition monitor are part of the package.

The F-Pace has always been a great-looking SUV. And in its latest form, it has more substance to match its style. In India, it will rival the Range Rover Velar, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Volvo XC60, and the BMW X3. Soon, Audi will join the party with its new Q5. If you had to pick one out of the lot, which would it be?
