It was in September last year when Jaguar unveiled the mid-life update of the F-Pace. Now, it has started accepting bookings for it in India. In its pre-facelift form, the F-Pace was on offer with just a petrol engine. The refreshed one, however, will have a choice of petrol as well as diesel powerplants. Moreover, the SUV will be offered in R-Dynamic S trim and not in the Prestige form. That, in Jaguar Land Rover’s world, means more kit as standard with a sportier outlook.

Jaguar has refrained from announcing the exact engine specifications. But, it has confirmed that the diesel motor will be a turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder unit. In all probability, it’ll be D200 form. That means 201bhp/430Nm, 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. With that powertrain, the F-Pace can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 8 seconds and reach 210kmph at full stretch.

Serving the petrol-powered SUV will the same 2.0-litre turbocharged mill that produces 247bhp/365Nm, while an 8-speed automatic handles gearbox duties and transmits the oomph to all four wheels. Jaguar claims that the F-Pace with the P250 setup can hit 100kmph from nothing in 7.3 seconds and reach 217kmph flat out.

As far as features go, the F-Pace will come with stuff like 19-inch alloy wheels, auto-dimming IRVM, heated and electrically operated ORVMs, 12-way powered front seats, an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 3D surround camera and LED headlamps with signature DRLs. Safety gizmos such as front and rear parking sensors, Lane Keep Assist, cruise control with speed limiter, emergency braking and a driver condition monitor will also be offered.

Jaguar Land Rover India says that the F-Pace deliveries will commence in May 2021. That means the launch isn’t too far away. Once it arrives, the British SUV will face competition from its step-sibling – the Land Rover Velar – and models like the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Volvo XC60.
