Saar: Although it is likely to remain mechanically unaltered, the refreshed Tigor will get styling tweaks inside and out as well as a revised features list.

After launching special editions of the Nexon and the Tiago, Tata Motors is now gearing up to introduce a refreshed iteration of the Tigor sedan. The launch is slated for October 10, 2018. The homegrown automaker recently released three teaser videos of the upcoming sedan on its social media account. The first video focuses on the headlamp enclosure of the refreshed Tata Tigor. It will get chrome detailing on the surrounds of both the barrels. The second one reveals the clear lens taillamp enclosure which, as before, will have LED inserts. The third one takes a dig at one of its main competitors while revealing a chrome lining at the base of the side windows. Another noteworthy aspect in all three videos is the new blue body paint that the refreshed Tata Tigor will get. Here, treat yourself with the videos (watch the third one closely and identify what it reminds you of. Hint: We’ve witnessed a product launch recently):

Apart from flaunting tweaked headlamp and taillamp designs, the refreshed Tata Tigor is likely to receive minor cosmetic tweaks here and there. Inside the cabin, Tata Motors might offer new upholstery and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In essence, the infotainment system will be the same as the one offered with the Nexon SUV. And the revisions in the features list won’t end there. In a bid to up the safety quotient of the sedan, Tata Motors is likely to offer the refreshed Tigor, as standard, with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, CSC (corner stability control), rear parking sensors and seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters.

There will be, however, no changes to report from behind the scenes. As before, the refreshed Tata Tigor will be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.05-litre diesel engine. While the former is good for 85PS/114Nm, the latter produces 70PS/140Nm. While both engines are offered with a 5-speed manual transmission, the petrol motor can also be had with a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission).

With Ford launching the Aspire facelift today and Honda introducing the all-new Amaze earlier this year, Tata Motors had to spice up the recipe of the slow-moving Tigor. Expect the carmaker to release more teasers until the D-day arrives.
