In January 2020, Ford India introduced the BS6-compliant (Bharat Stage 6) EcoSport. Earlier this month, it launched the updated range of the Figo, Freestyle, and the Aspire. And now, we’ve got the upgraded Endeavour, which not only complies with the stricter emission norms but also comes with a simpler list of variants. Here’s the complete price list:

To gain BS6 compliance for the Endeavour, Ford had to come up with a plan which would not only keep the performance figures competitive but also allow for an attractive price list. For that wishlist to come true, the company ditched both all the older powertrains, which comprised of a 2.2-litre diesel engine, a 3.2-litre diesel mill, a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic.

The upgraded Ford Endeavour now boasts a brand-new engine-transmission combination. Propulsion comes from a 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission (a first in India). With 168bhp/420Nm, the SUV produces 10bhp/40Nm more than the old 2.2-litre mill. Compared to the 3.2-litre motor, however, the new engine delivers 29bhp/50Nm less oomph. Thanks to the new powertrain, Ford claims that the Endeavour delivers up to 14 per cent better fuel efficiency. The 4×2 variants can up to 13.9kmpl, whereas the 4×4 returns a maximum of 12.4kmpl.

Ford’s been busy doing some additional number crunching. It says the new engine in the Endeavour offers a 20 per cent improvement in low-end torque in comparison to the older 2.2-litre TDCi mill. On idle, the 2.0-litre motor also manages to beat the older power-plant on the decibel meter by recording a 4-point lower value.

As for the new transmission, Ford says that it reduces gaps between gears for a smoother acceleration experience. The gearbox also comes mated to Ford’s SelectShift technology, which allows drivers to lock gears in the desired range, giving rise to an engaging driving experience. The remainder of the kit, in both Titanium and Titanium+ trims, remains almost the same as before. There are just two differences – the addition of FordPass and Bi-LED headlamps instead of HID (High-Intensity Discharge).

Those who are interested in purchasing the Ford Endeavour must know that the price list mentioned above is introductory and will stay so till April 30, 2020. From May 1, Ford will bump-up the asking price by Rs 70,000.
