After making its entry in the Indonesian market last month, the refreshed Toyota Innova Crysta has arrived in India. Prices start at Rs 16.26 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 24.33 lakh. Those are pan-India ex-showroom figures, except for Kerala. The refreshed formula is available in GX, VX and top-spec ZX trim levels.  If you compare the prices, they’ve gone up by Rs 60,000-70,000 depending on the variant. Here’s how the price list looks like:

Before you get confused, Toyota hasn’t shed light on the G and G+ variants. In all probability, they march on in pre-facelift form and will soon be axed. So, what’s new? There are a few design changes. It gets a new front bumper which incorporates bigger indicator housings and round fog lamps. The grille design has gone more trapezoidal and features a thick chrome surround. As for the headlamps, they remain the same but boast more prominent chrome treatment. That runs all the way into the grille’s surround. Toyota has also garnished the Innova Crysta facelift with new diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Indoors, the people-carrier gets leather seats in its top-spec avatar. The company has also updated the infotainment system, which now gets dedicated buttons and offers Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay as standard. To enhance the safety quotient, Toyota has also introduced front parking sensors on higher variants as well as front clearance Sonar with MID indication. The Innova Crysta also comes with features such as seven airbags, cruise control, automatic climate control, cooled glovebox, Hill Start Assist and Tilt & Telescopic steering adjust.

Engine and transmission options remain unchanged. That means you can have the Innova Crysta facelift with a 2.7-litre petrol engine, which produces 164bhp/245Nm, or a 2.4-litre diesel mill that puts out 148bhp/360Nm. Both powerplants are available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic.

The Innova Crysta has been a vital cog for Toyota India. It, along with the Fortuner, is what the market mostly associates the Japanese brand with. Do you like the Innova Crysta facelift? Or, would you rather spend that kind of money of an SUV?
