Saar: Apart from releasing sketches, Audi is also running a five-part video series called Q8 Unleashed.

Audi is all set to reveal its new flagship Q model on June 5, 2018, at the Audi China Brand Summit Shenzhen in Shanghai. Just to build up the heat around the car’s world premiere, Audi is currently running a five-part video series called Q8 Unleashed, with the fifth episode going live moments before Audi unveils the Q8 in flesh. Additionally, the four-ringed carmaker has also kept all car nutters around the world busy with teaser videos and sketches.

This time around the company’s official Facebook page was updated with another sketch that showcases the front end of the Audi Q8. The single-frame front grille with vertical slats looks identical to what we saw on the concept vehicle last year. The headlamp enclosures look similar too and so does the bumper with enormous air intakes at each corner. Couple this sketch with that of the rear of the car and you’d get a fair idea what Audi has in store for us. The front and rear skid plates, side-skirts and the brake light which stretches end-to-end, gives the Q8 a rugged yet sporty outlook. Poor man’s Lamborghini Urus in the making?

Audi e-tron SUV World Premiere Date Revealed

It isn’t a secret that the Audi Q8 will be built on the same platform as the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne and the new Volkswagen Touareg. Powertrains are expected to be shared between the aforementioned SUVs too but Audi, with its sensible caps on, is expected to focus more on electrified powertrains rather than pure-bred gas guzzlers. As far as the interior goes, no confirmed details have surfaced yet. That said, it will bear a similar layout to the Audi A8 albeit with a few extra buttons to play with.

Essentially, the Audi Q8 will be a coupe-ish version of the Q7. To put things in perspective, it will pit against the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe in the market. But unlike its German rivals, the Audi Q8 is also expected to come in a four-seat layout, just like the Volvo XC90 also does.
