Are you on the lookout for a sensible hatchback which won’t go wrong all the time? Well, your list of choices just became a little bit longer as Nissan India has quietly updated the recipes of Micra and Micra Active for the year 2018. There aren’t many design changes to report but the equipment list has surely been enhanced. Mechanically, both hatchbacks remain unchanged.
2018 Nissan Micra
As mentioned above, there are almost no design changes. But to liven up the exterior a bit, the 2018 Nissan Micra is offered with a rear spoiler and turn indicators on outer rear-view mirrors (ORVMs). While the former is available only on the XV CVT variant, the latter is part of the kit on both XV variants. Inside the cabin, the standard kit now includes dual airbags, driver seatbelt warning indicator, rear parking sensors and a speed warning device. There’s also a 6.2-inch touchscreen display with phone mirroring technology (not Android Auto or Apple CarPlay) but is available only on the XV variants. The XV CVT variant also gets a rear-view camera. Here’s how the current price-list of the Nissan Micra looks like:

The 2018 Nissan Micra can be had with either a 1.2-litre petrol engine (77PS/104Nm) or a 1.5-litre diesel (64PS/160Nm). While the former is available only with a CVT unit, the latter can be had with only a 5-speed manual transmission. The claimed mileage for petrol and diesel variants is 19.15kmpl and 23.19kmpl respectively.
2018 Nissan Micra Active
In its refreshed avatar, the top-spec XV variant of the 2018 Nissan Micra Active comes with turn indicators on ORVMs and the same touchscreen display as its more expensive sibling. The standard kit now includes dual airbags, speed warning indicator, rear parking sensors and driver seatbelt warning indicator. Like before, the 2018 Nissan Micra Active is available with just one engine-transmission combination across three variants – XL, XL (O) and XV. They are priced at Rs 5.03 lakh, Rs 5.41 lakh and Rs 5.98 lakh respectively.
Under the hood, it comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine (68PS/104Nm) with a 5-speed manual transmission. Nissan claims that while both the XL variants can deliver a mileage of 18.97kmpl, the range-topper XV is more frugal at 19.69kmpl.
