Honda fans, listen up! If you were waiting for or had booked one, the BS-compliant (Bharat Stage 6) WR-V has arrived. Prices start at Rs 8.5 lakh and go up to Rs 10.99 lakh. Neither of those figures includes taxes. As you can see, not much is different in the design department. To find what has changed, one needs to spend time concentrating hard. Additionally, the subcompact crossover brings upgraded powertrains and a couple of new gizmos. Before getting into the details, take a look at the price list:

As before, the engine-transmission combinations come from the Amaze. And, as before, there’s no automatic transmission option. That’s a pity, isn’t it! At least for Honda fans! The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 89bhp/110Nm, whereas the 1.5-litre, turbo-diesel pumps out 99bhp/200Nm. A 5-speed manual handles transmission duties. All that means there’s no change in power and torque figures. But, the mileage figures have dipped. Here’s how the compare to the previous ones:

In terms of design, the WR-V gets a revised front bumper, a new grille and LED-powered projector headlamps, fog lamps and DRLs. Even the taillamps now get LED elements to deliver a more upmarket feel. Indoors, the most significant changes are newly upholstered seats and a 7.0-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include cruise control, electric sunroof, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, automatic climate control, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment and a six-speaker sound system.

The Honda WR-V offers a decent list of safety features too. And no matter which variant you choose, you’ll get most of them. So, you get stuff like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rear defogger, a rear-view camera and high-speed warning.

In India, the Honda WR-V positions itself as a rival to the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra XUV300. Would you buy the Honda over its competitors?
