After unveiling the refreshed X3 to the world in June last year, BMW has now launched it in India. The revised SUV comes as a petrol-only model, with just two variants in its portfolio – xDrive30i SportX Plus and xDrive30i M Sport. The former comes with a sticker price of Rs 59.9 lakh, whereas the latter costs Rs 65.9 lakh. For the time being, there’s no diesel variant available. That said, it will be launched at a later stage.

Both variants come with the same powertrain. It consists of a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine with 248bhp/350Nm on tap, 8-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel-drive system. With that setup in place, BMW claims a 0-100kmph sprint time of 6.6 seconds. The top speed is 235kmph.

As standard, the X3 facelift comes with features such as cruise control, multiple drive modes, adaptive LED headlights, ambient lighting, auto headlamps and wipers, panoramic glass roof and three-zone automatic climate control. The more expensive M Sport derivative justifies the premium with added features like Dynamic Damper Control, an M Sport package, a Harman Kardon sound system, a 360-degree camera and BMW Gesture Control. Also, the SportX Plus variant features an analogue instrument cluster with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The M Sport comes with two 12.3-inch displays, one each for the instrument cluster and infotainment purposes.

On the safety front, the new BMW X3 offers a bunch of airbags, Cornering Brake Control, Dynamic Stability Control with Dynamic Traction Control, a tyre pressure indicator, ISOFIX anchorages for child booster seats and an electric parking brake with auto-hold function.

BMW offers the new X3 in six colours – Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect, Mineral White, Brooklyn Grey and Carbon Black. The last two are exclusive for the M Sport variant. In India, the BMW X3 competes with the Volvo XC60, Jaguar F-Pace, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Audi Q5.
