Tata Motors, it seems, is determined to keep the festive mood in high spirits. Over the past two-three weeks, it introduced the ‘Festival of Cars’, unveiled the Ziptron tech, gave birth to Pro Editions of five models and confirmed that the Nexon EV would launch in the last quarter of the current financial year. Now, the homegrown automaker has released a limited-edition Tiago, with the Wizz tag. Unlike the earlier Tiago Wizz, this one is only available with a petrol engine. Price? It is Rs 5.4 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

To those who saw the previous Tiago Wizz, the new one looks different in a jiffy. That’s because instead of various red accents inside and out, this has orange ones. On the outside, those orange highlights are on the front grille, wheel covers and the ORVMs. There’s also a Wizz branding on the tailgate. The titanium grey body colour and the black roof complete the exterior makeover. Indoors, titanium grey-coloured AC vents and the fabric seats feature orange detailing, while the door handles boast granite black finish.

Based on the XT trim, the Tiago Wizz comes packed with features such as a 4-speaker sound system mated to a Bluetooth/USB/iPod-supporting infotainment system, multiple driving modes, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, all four power windows and an accessory socket in the front. As far as the safety kit is concerned, it gets dual airbags, an Overspeed alert system, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and speed-dependent auto door locks.

As you would expect, there are no mechanical changes to report. The 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine is tuned to produce 84hp/114Nm, all of which is harnessed by a 5-speed manual transmission. This powertrain is still BSIV-compliant but will be upgraded to meet the stricter Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms before March 31, 2020. In India, the Tiago competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Datsun Go and the Hyundai Grand i10.
