Tata Motors has introduced two dual-tone colour options for the Harrier. Both finishes – Calisto Copper with black roof and Orcus White with black roof – are available only on the range-topping XZ trim. And, if you want the two-tone finish on your Harrier, you will have to spend an extra Rs 20,000 over and above the XZ variant’s price. That means the dual-tone Harrier has an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 16.76 lakh.

The company has also announced that over 10,000 units of the Harrier since January 2019 have been sold. The SUV was introduced with prices ranging from Rs 12.69 lakh to Rs 16.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). However, the Harrier’s price list was recently revised and all variants now cost approximately Rs 31,000 more than before.

Apart from upgrading its powertrain to meet the stricter Bharat Stage 6 (BSVI) levels of emission norms, Tata Motors is also fine-tuning a seven-seat version of the Harrier. The latter broke cover as the Tata Buzzard during this year’s Geneva International Motor Show. The Harrier’s 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine pumps out 140PS/350Nm and is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. The seven-seater version is likely to get a beefier version of the same engine. In all probability, it will produce around 170PS of power.

The Tata Harrier’s head-turning looks are complemented by its long list of creature comforts. It includes six airbags, 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system mated to a 9-speaker JBL sound system, HID projector headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, terrain response modes (normal, rough, wet), hill hold and descent control, roll-over mitigation and automatic climate control.

In India, the Harrier competes with the MG Hector, Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500. In August this year, the Tata SUV will gain another competitor in the form of the Kia Seltos.
