It was in April this year when we reported that Porsche India has begun accepting bookings for the Macan facelift. Now, we have a launch date. Porsche’s baby SUV will get a price list on July 29, 2019. The India website has both the standard and the S variants listed. While the former debuted in July last year, the latter was unveiled in December 2018. Expect Porsche India to launch both the versions simultaneously.

Let’s start with the powertrains. The standard Macan facelift will be powered by a 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine which is good for 245PS/370Nm. The S variant will house a 3.0-litre V6 producing 354PS/480Nm, which makes it more powerful than the standard Cayenne. Both engines will come mated to a 7-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission and an active all-wheel-drive system.

Performance figures? Well, the 0-100kmph sprint times for the standard and S variants are 6.7 seconds and 5.3 seconds, respectively. If the optional Sport Chrono Package is installed, those acceleration times will come down by two-tenths of a second. To get the best results, Porsche has fitted the Macan facelift with an automatic limited-slip differential and traction-slip control. As standard, the SUV will also get mixed profile tyres. Features like ceramic brakes, torque vectoring, height-adjustable air suspension and Active Stability Management are optional extras.

Over to the list of features. As standard, the Porsche Macan facelift will have features like three-zone climate control, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED-powered headlamps, DRLs and taillights, tyre pressure monitoring system, 40:20:40 split rear seat, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, Porsche Hill Control, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, Porsche Communication Management including online navigation and voice control through a 10.9-inch, full-HD infotainment system and a 150-watt, 10-speaker sound system.

Porsche will bring the Macan facelift to India via the CBU route. Once launched, the Porsche Macan facelift will lock horns with the Land Rover Discovery, Audi Q5, BMW X3, Volvo XC60, Jaguar F-Pace and the Mercedes-Benz GLC.
