Mercedes-Benz India is not just the leading luxury carmaker in India but also the oldest one. In fact, it is celebrating its silver jubilee this year. To commemorate this important anniversary, the company will be launching an array of new cars in India. Apart from that, it will also invest to expand its footprint in important markets across the country. To do just that, Mercedes-Benz India has opened two new facilities in Kolkata with Benchmark Interkrafts.

The two facilities include a service centre and a showroom. The service facility is spread across 20,300 sq. ft., housing 12 service bays for body & paint and general repairs. There are over 20 trained technicians running the show and the premises can service up to 1,500 cars every year. Apart from that, the facility houses a driver’s lounge and a separate area for genuine merchandise.

The showroom, on the other hand, spans over 13,000 sq. ft. and will be run by a team of more than 40 trained professionals. There’s enough area to not just have a comfortable 11 cars display area but also house Café Mercedes, a customer lounge and a dedicated area for genuine Mercedes-Benz accessories and merchandise.

Benchmark Cars has been associated with the German brand for over a decade. It has thirteen outlets spread across four states – Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal. The newly inaugurated dealership is Benchmark Cars’ third outlet in the ‘City of Joy’. For Mercedes-Benz India, it is the seventh in the North-East part of the country. Both the showroom and the service facility attracted a total investment of Rs 10 crore. What’s more, the facility is strategically located to cater to customers in Kolkata and the neighbouring areas.

With the new facilities up and running, Mercedes-Benz India now has 95 outlets across 47 cities in India. The eastern part of the country is vital for the company. Over the last five years, it has witnessed over 50 per cent growth in the region. In January, the carmaker launched its first product for this year – the V-Class MPV. Later this month, it will launch the second model – the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupé.
