Saar: Those are likely to be reserved only for the range-topping variants of the three-row MPV.

Mahindra is at it again! In the latest teaser, the homegrown automaker has revealed the design of the dual-tone alloy wheels which will be offered with the Marazzo MPV. They are 17-inches in diameter and are likely to be reserved for the range-topping variants only. The rubber comes from Bridgestone’s Dueler series. The complete profile of the wheel is still unknown and the picture isn’t clear enough for us to read what the tyre-wall reads. Apart from the design of the alloy wheels, the teaser image also confirms the presence of plastic cladding all-around the lower section of the Marazzo. The cladding on the sides of the car also seem to house grey-coloured accents.

Back in July this year, when Mahindra officially announced the name of its newest MPV, it also mentioned that the Marazzo will have the largest footprint (wheelbase x front track) of any passenger vehicle. The wheels with a 17-inch diameter should serve well for such a people carrier. On the very same day, Mahindra also shed light on several other aspects of the Marazzo such as the front grille, taillamp enclosures, leatherette seats, roof-mounted AC vents for second and third row and the instrument cluster.

As time went past, Mahindra also revealed the dashboard design, seating layout and the headlamp units of the Marazzo. While Mahindra is yet to announce the commencement of bookings officially, several dealers across the country have started entertaining them already. Based on the dealer, the refundable token amount ranges between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000.

The Marazzo is not a replacement for the ageing Xylo. Instead, the new model will slot above the Xylo as a more premium offering from the Scorpio-maker. At the time of launch, the Marazzo will be offered with only a diesel engine. Mahindra could introduce a petrol engine at a later stage but that will depend on what the customers are demanding. The Marazzo, which is likely to fall in the Rs 10-15 lakh price bracket, will target to compete with the entry-level variants of the Toyota Innova Crysta and the range-topping variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. We’ll get a certain answer to all those predictions on September 3, 2018.
