In a bid to add some sporty flair in Aspire’s line-up, Ford India has launched a limited-edition version. Called simply as the Aspire Blu, it is available with the existing petrol-manual and diesel-manual combinations. While the former is priced at Rs 7.51 lakh, the diesel-fed derivative carries a price tag of Rs 8.31 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers can opt for one of the three colour options – White, Moondust Silver and Smoke.

If you have been following Ford India’s storyline, you’d immediately relate the Aspire Blu to the Figo Blu. Apart from the limited-edition factor, the Aspire Blu gets the same sort of sporty treatment as the Figo Blu. On the outside, it features decals on the side and the boot lid, blue accents within the C-shaped foglamp housings and blacked-out roof, 15-inch alloy wheels and grille. Ford Aspire Blu’s all-black interior also features blue inserts on a few panels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The Aspire Blu is based on the Titanium trim. Hence, it gets a good number of toys to play with. The list includes automatic climate control, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, push-button start, a rear-view camera, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in GPS navigation and paired to a 4-speaker sound system, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors. Ford India is also offering a first-in-class 5 years/ 1 lakh km warranty, which includes 2-year factory warranty and 3-year extended warranty.

As mentioned above, the Ford Aspire Blu is available with both engine options – 1.2-litre petrol with 96PS/120Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel with 100PS/215Nm. Both engines are available only with a 5-speed manual transmission. As far as mileage figures are concerned, the petrol- and diesel-fed Aspire, with a manual transmission in the mix, can return up to 19.4kmpl and 26.1kmpl, respectively. In India, the Ford Aspire competes with the Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, Volkswagen Ameo and the Hyundai Xcent.
