If you still don’t know, the new Hyundai Creta will gain its price list on March 17, 2020. Now, you can even book one (offline or online) with a minimum token amount of Rs 25,000. Hyundai has also revealed the list of variants, colour options, main features and powertrain specifications for the upcoming SUV. Your wait to see how the new Creta looks like indoors comes to an end as well.

As the table above suggests, the new Hyundai Creta will have both petrol and diesel engines on offer. More specifically, there’s one diesel and two petrol engines, and they all come from Creta’s step-sibling – the Kia Seltos. The diesel is a 1.5-litre unit that produces 113bhp/250Nm. Those looking for a petrol-powered Creta have a choice between a 1.5-litre engine (113bhp/144Nm) and a turbocharged 1.4-litre mill (138bhp/242Nm). Both 1.5-litre motors will come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. For a two-pedal setup, the petrol engine is also available with a CVT whereas the diesel has the option of a 6-speed automatic (torque converter). The 1.4-litre powerplant comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) only.

As of now, Hyundai hasn’t shared what all features would be available in which trim level. However, it has revealed a list of gizmos which will be on offer. The Creta will come with triple-beam LED headlamps, LED DRLs, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, in-built air purifier, electric parking brake, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, multiple drive modes (Eco, Sport and Comfort), three traction control modes (Snow, Sand and Mud) and rear disc brakes. Want more? Get this – BlueLink 1.5 (connected car tech), paddle shifters, remote engine start, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, two-step rear reclining seats and ambient lighting.

Customers can opt from eight single-tone and two dual-tone shades. The former category comprises of Phantom Black, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Galaxy Blue, Red Mulberry and Lava Orange. Those seven paint options are available in all variants with 1.5-litre engines. The turbo-petrol engine (available in just two trim levels) ropes in the eighth single tone colour – Deep Forest. Also, Hyundai has reserved both dual-tone shades (White with black roof and orange with black roof) for DCT-equipped variants only. If you don’t want any of those finishes on your turbocharged Creta petrol, the Black and White colours are also on offer.

It will be interesting to see how Hyundai manages to distance the new Creta from the Seltos. Apart from locking horns with the Kia, the upcoming SUV will also compete with the Nissan Kicks and the Renault Captur.
