If you were to choose one carmaker that has produced perfect bedroom posters for decades, what would it be? In all likelihood, most will pen down Lamborghini. And its latest creation further firms-up that belief. Meet the Lamborghini Sián! It is the fastest, most powerful road-legal model ever made by the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based brand. If that doesn’t float your boat then get this – the Sián is also the first hybridised Lambo. Not impressed? Only 63 of them will ever exist. Still nothing? Then there’s something definitely wrong with you!

Those who have followed Lamborghini’s creations since 2010, they will surely agree with the following observation – the Sián boasts design cues originally found on the Countach from 1974, Veneno from 2013 and the Terzo Millennio Concept from last year. The concept of hybridisation, however, is more than just skin deep. The 6.5-litre, naturally-aspirated V12, is pumped-up to produce 774hp/720Nm. Mated to it is a 7-speed automatic transmission which also has a built-in, 48-volt e-motor producing 33hp/38Nm. That, Lamborghini claims, is uniquely integrated to “provide immediate response and improved performance”.

The total system output of 807hp is enough for a 0-100kmph time of less than 2.8 seconds and a top speed north of 350kmph. Those figures make the Sián faster and more powerful than the Aventador SVJ, which also has a production life of just 63 units. Even with the 34kg electric motor on-board, the Sián has a better power-to-weight ratio than the Aventador SVJ. That comes courtesy of some extensive use of lightweight materials. Figures which are down for the Sián in comparison are acceleration times between 30-60kmph (less by 0.2 seconds) and 70-120kmph (less by 1.2 seconds).

If you are attending this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, you’ll have the chance to see the Sián in the flesh. Needless to say, it will be a much rarer sight to see one on the move. The starting price is $ 3.6 million and even if you have that kind of money, you can’t buy one anymore. Why? All 63 units have already been sold.
