Saar: Both capture the rampaging Italian bull doing rounds at the ‘ring.

For a while now, several publications across the world have snapped a highly camouflaged version of the Lamborghini Aventador being put through the ‘Green Hell’. In layman terms, it has been spotted testing at the Nordschleife Nürburgring on several occasions. Now, however, Lamborghini itself has confirmed that the beast behind the multi-coloured camo is actually the Aventador SVJ. The acronym SVJ is a blend of two historical terms that for decades Lamborghini has used to denote the track-oriented iterations of its models. SV stands for SuperVeloce and J is for Jota. Translate Super Veloce into English and you get Super-Fast, while the term Jota in Spain is the name of the letter J and also a type of dance. We feel Lambo was going for the latter. Anyway, treat yourself with both the official teaser videos of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, or SuperVeloce Jota, or Super-Fast Dance.

It is safe to say that Lamborghini developed the Aventador SVJ to complete two extremely important tasks. One, wipe the smug smile off Porsche’s face by dethroning the 911 GT2 RS from the lap-record chart at the ‘ring. Two, bid farewell to the Aventador nameplate. The SVJ will be Aventador’s last hurrah before a brand-new replacement comes in 2020, which will have an electrified powerplant.

Although Lamborghini is yet to reveal the official numbers, it is believed that the Aventador’s last iteration has beaten the Porsche 911 GT2 RS’ time at the ‘ring. In terms of power, the Aventador SVJ is expected to have around 800PS from the re-tuned, naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12. Apart from the extra oomph from the 12-cylinder powerplant, the track-focused Lambo will feature tweaked aerodynamics to generate more downforce. In the videos above, you can see that it will have a larger front splitter, new side skirts, bigger rear diffuser and a non-retractable rear spoiler. Even the exhaust outlets have been pushed closer to the taillamp housings.

Lamborghini Aventador And Huracán Reach Production Milestones

Lamborghini says that the Aventador SVJ has been “designed to have the best weight to power” figure. Hence, weight saving must have been a priority too. The wheels, which will be lightweight compared to the ones on the Aventador S, will have the grippy Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres. Expect the interior trim to be stripped to just the bare essentials, which will include Lamborghini’s ALA system and a digital instrument cluster.

The Aventador SVJ should make a world debut soon as it is expected to go on sale by the end of the year. Stay tuned to CarSaar to know how the launch of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ unfolds.
