Kia, like several other big players in the industry, is betting big on electrified mobility. To take the pace of developments a notch higher, the carmaker has built an all-new, all-electric concept vehicle which will make its world premiere at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS). As of now, just one teaser image has been revealed.

The new EV (electric vehicle) concept was designed at Kia’s European design centre, which is located in Frankfurt, Germany. Based on what Gregory Guillaume claims, who is the vice president of design for Kia Motors Europe, the new electric vehicle concept will not only flaunt a jaw-dropping piece of design but also showcase possible solutions to problems like range anxiety, performance, recharging networks and driving dynamics. That is quite a claim and we can’t wait to see how that unfolds in a couple of weeks.

Kia Motors has ventured in almost all possible vehicle electrification technologies. It already has a couple of vehicles which produce no emissions at all – the Soul EV and the Niro EV. Apart from those, the South Korean carmaker also has the Optima and Niro model which feature plug-in hybrid powertrains. Last year, the carmaker also unveiled a 48-volt mild-hybrid system which was fitted to the Sportage SUV. Is any other major electrification tech missing here? Oh yes, Fuel Cells! For a while, the carmaker did manufacture the Mohave SUV with FCEV-type powertrain.

In short, Kia has never been afraid of embracing new technologies to hone the future of mobility. And we are pretty sure that with the new EV concept, which we’ll get to see on March 5, 2019, Kia’s ambitions will reach new heights. Over here on our shores, we are excited to see what Kia Motors brings to the industry as we wait for the launch of its first product later this year.
