The F-Type was always a looker. Jaguar had to come out swinging to make the refreshed version look even better. So, does it? Well, that’s for you lot to decide. But one thing is for sure; not many will be able to walk away from it and buy something else. In its refreshed form, the F-Type comes with a heavily updated front end, more gizmos to play with, better materials inside the cabin and more variants in the portfolio.

Let’s round-off the changes on the outside first. At the front, there’s a sculpted bumper, a larger mesh grille, new sleeker headlamps with LED units and a clamshell bonnet with vents. On the side, the sports car features new fender vents and massive 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear end boasts reprofiled taillamps and a new bumper. Inside the cabin, the updates include a configurable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a larger touchscreen infotainment system which comes with Jaguar’s InControl Touch Pro interface and more upmarket upholstery options.

In the engines department, the F-Type facelift will be available with four-, six- and eight-cylinder options, with outputs ranging from 296bhp/400Nm to 567bhp/700Nm. Cubic capacities, like before, start at 2.0 litres and go up to 5.0 litres. Depending on the engine chosen, the 0-100kmph sprint times and top speed figures range between 5.7-3.5 seconds and 250-300kmph, respectively. No matter which one you opt for, the only transmission option is the 8-speed automatic.

The updated sports car has already received a price list in its home country. The on-road figures start at just over 54,000 GBP (~Rs 50 lakh) and go all the way up to approximately 102,000 GBP (~Rs 94.4 lakh). As you’d expect, engine and variant options will be market dependent. For instance, the UK and the EU get three engine options, whereas China will get just two. India too will become one of the recipients, but that will happen sometime next year. Considering how Jaguar has priced the refreshed F-Type in the UK, prices in India will start well above the Rs 1 crore mark.
