So, what all has changed in the refreshed Hyundai Creta? In a nutshell, not much. On the outside, Hyundai’s cascade grille comes dominates the front end and it is accompanied by a sportier front bumper. Speaking of which, the bumper boasts new fog-lamps with their own horizontally inverted C-shaped LED DRLs. At the rear, the bumper gets a slightly reworked design and so does the taillamps. The side profile remains identical, apart from the newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels.

As far as options for the exterior paint are concerned, the Hyundai Creta facelift comes with the new options – Passion Orange, Passion Orange with Phantom Black (Dual Tone) and Marina Blue. Other colour options for the exterior are Polar White, Sleek Silver, Stardust, Fiery Red, Phantom Black and Polar White with Phantom Black (Dual Tone). The Mystic Blue and Earth Brown body paint shades have been ditched.

Inside the cabin, the layout of the Hyundai Creta facelift remains identical to its predecessor. That said, there is a lot more to play around with. The new kit includes an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, wireless mobile phone charger, powered sunroof, cruise control and a smartkey band. Other features like six airbags, projector headlamps, hill start assist, smartphone connectivity (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink) and automatic climate control will continue to be on offer.

Mechanically, the Hyundai Creta facelift remains identical to its predecessor. Three engine options – a 1.4-litre diesel and two 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines – are available. While the smaller diesel mill is offered only with the 6-speed manual transmission, the 1.6-litre engines are available with the 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. The 1.4-litre diesel has 90PS/220Nm on tap, while the 1.6-litre petrol and the 1.6-litre diesel engines produce 123PS/151Nm and 128PS/260Nm respectively.

The Hyundai Creta facelift will renew its rivalry with two Renault products – Captur and Duster, Jeep Compass, Nissan Terrano, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and the Honda BR-V.
