From distributing rations and PPEs (Personal Protection Equipments) to donating crores to CM and PM relief funds, Hyundai Motor India has done it all. But, as we all know, the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over. With India clocking lakhs of new cases and thousands succumbing to the deadly virus every day, the critical need of the hour is an uninterrupted supply of medicare oxygen equipment to the most affected states in the country.

To aid India’s fight against the timely availability of such equipment,  Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) will supply the vital medical gear to five states – New Delhi, Telangana, Maharashtra, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. It says that the entire process of procurement and delivery of equipment has been expedited to support government hospitals in those states. It has promised to deliver:

  • 700 Oxygen Concentrators
  • 10 High Flow Oxygen Plants
  • 200 High Flow Nasal Oxygen Machines
  • 225 BiPap Ventilator Machines

Setting up Oxygen Generation Plants will go a long way in bridging the gap between demand and supply. As a result, patients in critical conditions will get the lifesaving oxygen a lot sooner. Besides all that, Hyundai will also donate medical consumables for staff in several hospitals.

This support comes courtesy of the Rs 20 crore relief package that HMIF announced earlier this year. It has also donated Rs 7 crore to PM CARES relief fund and Rs 5 crore to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Relief Fund. HMIF also supplied COVID-19 diagnostic test kits worth Rs 4 crore.

In addition, HMIF ran projects such as ‘Grameen Sanitation’ and ‘Sparsh Sanjeevani’. Under the former, it covered 292 rural locations in India. The latter comprised of satellite clinics and mobile medical units. Those helped reach people in remote areas with medical supplies and pathological testing facilities. HMIF claims that the mobile clinics have nursed more than 5,000 patients back to health in four months.
