Pure filth! That’s what it is! What India has received today is called the Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder. It wears a price tag of Rs 4.1 crore (ex-showroom), which is Rs 37 lakh more than its fixed-roof sibling. Isn’t that difference a bit too steep? For regular, non-shiny people like us who think a meal at Pizza Hut gets quite pricy at times, yes the difference is massive. But for those who wear suits costing as much as a Maruti, probably not.

So, who would want the Spyder? Two kinds of super-wealthy people. One, who want to enjoy the bellow of that 5.2-litre, naturally-aspirated V10, and two, who do not want to miss the compliments from onlookers. That soft-top takes 17 seconds to go one way or the other, and both those acts are possible at speeds of up to 50kmph. You have to agree that with the roof down this looks absolutely stunning! It’ll be tough for people to concentrate on anything else, including their partners if one of these is around.

Not enough numbers up there for you math lovers? Okay, here you go! A 7-speed automatic transmission harnesses the available 630hp/600Nm from the 10-cylinder engine and feeds it to an all-wheel-drive system. Yes, that setup and those figures are the same as one gets in the Huracan Evo. The sprint times from nothing to 100kmph and 200kmph are 3.1 seconds and 9.3 seconds, respectively. Since the convertible has to lug around a bit more weight than its fixed-roof sibling, it is slightly slower to accelerate. Top speed? That’s 325kmph.

The rest of the package, including creature comforts and clever aerodynamic wizardry, is almost the same in the two baby bulls. Those who crave for some hard-hitting dose of performance-oriented features, they can sniff on this – the Huracan Evo Spyder has rear-wheel-steering and a four-wheel torque vectoring system. Happy?
