The second-gen Honda Amaze has been doing amazingly for Honda! You see what we did there?! Anyway, in the months of May and June this year, Honda retailed 9,789 and 9,103 units of the Amaze in India. In July 2018, the sub-4 metre sedan broke its own monthly sales record as the company sold 10,180 units. That number accounts for 51 per cent of Honda India’s sales last month. In fact, the Honda Amaze is the second car in its segment to break the monthly sales mark of 10K. The first car to enter the five-digit sales numbers in a month was the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

Up until now, the ride for the Honda Amaze has not been as smooth as the carmaker would have anticipated. On July 21, 2018, the Japanese carmaker initiated a voluntary recall for 7,290 units of the new-gen Honda Amaze to inspect for a possible problem with the electric-assist power steering sensor harness. The service campaign started on July 26, 2018.

The Honda Amaze is a well-packaged product. Moreover, it is the only car in its segment to offer a diesel-CVT combination. Even with the hiked price, we expect the Amaze to soldier-on at a similar rate as it did over the last three months.
