A few months ago, Maserati unveiled the 2021 Ghibli range. It became the first-ever Maserati to boast an electrified powertrain. Now, the refreshed four-door sports saloon has arrived in India. Prices start at Rs 1.15 crore and go all the way up to Rs 1.93 crore. Like all other Maserati models, the Ghibli comes to India via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. You can have it with a 2.0-litre engine, a 3.0-litre V6 or even a 3.8-litre V8 (for the first time). Here’s the complete price list:

Engines, first. The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged motor comes coupled to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. As a result, it pumps out 325bhp and 450Nm of torque. Those figures are enough for a 0-100kmph sprint time of 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 255kmph. Opt for the 3.0-litre V6, and the power/torque figures jump to 424bhp/580Nm. Maserati says that the Ghibli V6 can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 4.6 seconds and top out at 286kmph. The 3.8-litre V8, which pumps out 572bhp/730Nm, reduces the 0-100kmph sprint time to 4.3 seconds and increases the top speed to 326kmph.

With the numbers game over, let’s divert the attention to the list of features. The Maserati Ghibli comes packed with stuff like full-LED Adaptive Matrix headlamps, soft-close doors, Advanced Driving Assistance System (Level 2), Brembo brakes and hands-free boot lid opening. If all that is a bit poor for you, the Italian sedan also offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch TFT within the instrument cluster and Maserati Connect program, which incorporates an array of connected-car features. EURO NCAP has awarded the Maserati Ghibli a 5-star safety rating.

You buy A Maserati with your heart leading the decision-making process. Apart from performance and head-turning looks, the Ghibli also brings decades of lustful Maserati aura. If you had to buy a luxury sports saloon, which one would it be?
