This year Bugatti will celebrate its 110th birthday. And to commemorate the milestone, the luxury sports car maker has unveiled a special, celebratory edition of the Chiron Sport. Only 20 examples will ever exist and each one of them will pay tribute to Bugatti’s homeland – France. The special edition Chiron Sport will be built at the one and only factory that Bugatti has in Molsheim, which is in the Alsace region of France.

So, what has Bugatti done to create this limited-run Chiron Sport? The body, including the C-shape on the sides, is finished in a matte Steel Blue shade. The matt black alloys are accompanied by bright blue brake callipers, which give a nice contrast to the uneventful finish of the body and the wheels. Bugatti has also taken the pain to sandblast and polish the aluminium fuel cap. Speaking of which, it along with the ORVMs and the underside of the rear spoiler flaunt colours of French national flag. And the Sky View roof, which is an optional extra for the standard Chiron, is fitted as standard with the celebratory Chiron Sport.

Inside the cabin, the seats and headrests feature “110 ans Bugatti” logo and the steering wheel is draped in blue leather. There are some carbon fibre accents, not just on the steering column but also on several other bits and pieces. The specialness is carried forward with a bespoke medallion, which is located in the centre console. It rides on a carbon base and is made from solid silver with enamel inserts. Even the key has been elegantly crafted to flaunt the French tricolour.

Mechanically, the special edition Chiron Sport is identical to the car it is based on. The 8.0-litre, quad-turbo W16 engine pumps out 1,500PS of power and 1,600Nm of torque. The phenomenal oomph is fed to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. From nought, it will hit 100kmph in less than 2.4 seconds, 200kmph in 6.1 seconds, 300kmph in 13.1 seconds, 400kmph in 32.6 seconds and go past 420kmph at full stretch. Now those are the sort of numbers anyone would want to flaunt in a top trumps game!
