The drop-dead gorgeous F-Type will soon get a new variant called R-Dynamic Black. But for now, Jaguar Land Rover India has opened bookings for it. Like all other derivatives, the new one will land as a direct import as well. Therefore, it’ll attract massive duties and should cost around Rs 1.5 crore ex-showroom.

As the name hints, the new variant will have some striking blacked-out elements. The list includes the grille and window surrounds, Jaguar logo and branding, side vents, F-Type badge and the 20-inch five split-spoke wheels. And for that extra bit, the carmaker has enhanced the list of standard features. Unfortunately, at the moment, we don’t know what those extra bits and pieces are. But, stuff like a Meridian Sound system, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, heated and electric wing mirrors and an active electronic differential with torque vectoring will be on offer.

What we do know is that the F-Type R-Dynamic Black will pack 12-way powered performance seats. Those are available in Windsor leather in Ebony with light Oyster stitching or, for that extra sportiness, Mars with Flame red stitching. Accompanying those stylish elements will be an Ebony Suedecloth headliner. As for the exterior colour options, there are three available – Santorini Black, Eiger Grey or Firenze Red.

The oomph will come from a 5.0-litre supercharged V8, with an 8-speed automatic doing its thing. With 444bhp and 580Nm of torque going to the rear wheels, the F-Type can hit 100kmph from nothing in 4.6 seconds and clock 285kmph at flat out. The F-Type R, which has the same V8 but in a higher state of tune, can complete the standard sprint in 3.7 seconds and sail all the way to 300kmph.

It won’t be long before Jaguar announces the price. Once that happens, it’ll shift focus towards introducing the updated XF, specs for which were revealed a while back.
