The Tata Hexa has turned two. To commemorate the occasion, the homegrown automaker has launched the 2019 Hexa with additional features and a revised price list. Let’s get the latter out of the way first. The prices for the XE, XM, XM+ and XMA remain unchanged. However, for the rest of the three variants – XT, XTA and XT 4×4 – have received a Rs 20,000 price hike. Confused? Don’t be! Here’s the new variant-wise pricelist in comparison to the old one:

2019 Tata Hexa Prices (ex-showroom Delhi)

VariantNew PricesOld Prices
XERs 12.99 LakhRs 12.99 Lakh
XMRs 14.38 LakhRs 14.38 Lakh
XM+Rs 15.47 LakhRs 15.47 Lakh
XMARs 15.63 LakhRs 15.63 Lakh
XTRs 17.04 LakhRs 16.84 Lakh
XTARs 18.20 LakhRs 18 Lakh
XT 4x4Rs 18.37 LakhRs 18.17 Lakh

So, what’s new? First of all, all variants now come with the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that debuted with the mildly updated Tigor last year and was later added to the Tiago as well. It is engineered by Harman and supports smartphone pairing via Android Auto. Apart from that, Hexa’s XT derivatives get various dual-tone colour options. With the black roof, the body can be had in white, silver and grey. However, with the grey roof, the body can be finished in blue or bronze.

What’s more, the automatic variants now come with 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rest of the range feature 16-inch Charcoal grey alloys. Inside, the new infotainment system and the AC vents now feature chrome surrounds.

Mechanically, the Tata Hexa remains unaltered. The 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine puts out 150PS/320Nm in the XE variant and 156PS/400Nm in the rest of the range. The entry-level Hexa comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the rest of the line-up can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

With the launch of the Harrier earlier this year, Tata had to make some changes to the Hexa’s recipe to minimize the cannibalisation between the two. In India, the Tata Hexa’s direct competitor is the Mahindra XUV500.
