Saar: The SUV now comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines but only in the Prestige trim.

British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has introduced the updated iteration of the F-Pace SUV in India. It is available only in the Prestige trim but with a choice of petrol and diesel engines. While the petrol-fed Prestige variant is priced at Rs 63.17 lakh, the diesel-powered one will cost you Rs 63.57 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom India). JLR started assembling the F-Pace in India towards the end of last year. Back then, it offered the SUV only with a diesel engine. The petrol-fed variant that joins the 2019 model range is also locally put together.

Let’s get to the specifications first. No matter which variant, petrol or diesel, you choose, you will get a 2.0-litre power-plant under the bonnet. While the petrol-fed mill puts out 250PS/365Nm, the diesel-powered motor has 180PS/430Nm on tap. Both engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. JLR claims that the diesel F-Pace can sprint from nought to 100kmph in 9 seconds and reach a top speed of 208kmph. The same figures for the petrol F-Pace stand at 7 seconds and 217kmph.

As far as the equipment is concerned, both variants get the same array of gizmos. The list includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display mated to a 380-watt Meridian sound system, tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control with speed limiter, 10-way electrically adjustable front seats with memory function for the driver and four-zone climate control. If all that is a bit too poor for your, the list of features also includes JLR’s Park Assist with 360-degree parking aid, a rear-view camera, 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive LED headlamps, sliding panoramic roof, hill start assist and automatic headlamps and wipers.

In India, the Jaguar F-Pace in the same price bracket of the Mercedes-Benz GLE and the range-topping variants of the Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery.
