In a bid to improve the ambience and convenience factor inside the Nexon’s cabin, Tata Motors has silently made some changes. Even though the XE trim does not get any of these changes, prices for the sub-4 metre SUV have soured by approximately Rs 11,000 across the range. The ex-showroom Delhi price list now starts at Rs 6.58 lakh, which is for the XE petrol MT variant and goes all the way up to Rs 11 lakh, which is for the XZA+ Dual Tone diesel variant.

Right then, what are the changes?

In XM and XMA:

• New screen font on the non-touchscreen infotainment system.
• Antenna length increased.
• Dashboard mid-pad colour changes from silver to glossy grey.
• Gear-shift knob and central console now finished in glossy piano black rather than silver.
• Surrounds of AC knobs now finished in glossy piano black rather than matt granite black.

While XT gains all of the above updates, the XZ features only the last three. Plus, they both get:

• Rear AC vents in place of rudimentary air vents. The rear airflow can be adjusted from the front controls as the airflow adjustment knob has been taken away.
• New roof rails

Both the abovementioned features are also part of the XZ+ and XZA+ variants. In addition, the range-topping trims feature:

• A 12-volt power outlet behind the rear seats.
• Colour of the door trim changes from satin chrome to glossy piano black.

It is worth noting that all the changes mentioned above are part of both petrol- and diesel-powered variants. Unsurprisingly, there are no mechanical changes to report at the moment. That, however, will change as Tata Motors will be carrying forward both of Nexon’s engines beyond March 31, 2020. In other words, the Nexon will eventually see a price hike once its powertrains have been upgraded to BSVI (Bharat Stage VI) standards.
