Those who have been following Skoda India’s innings would know that it introduced the 2019 Corporate Edition of the Superb in January this year. Back then, it was available only with the petrol-manual combination and was exclusive to existing Skoda customers. That strategy, it seems, did not yield fruit for the Czech carmaker. And that is why it is back with a second attempt for the year. Say hello the Skoda Superb Corporate Edition, again!

This time around, the Superb Corporate Edition is available in both petrol-automatic and diesel-automatic configurations. The former gets a price tag of Rs 26 lakh, whereas the latter costs Rs 28.5 lakh. Skoda fans might say that those price tags are the same as those for corresponding Style variants. Yes, that is true. However, those prices for the Style variants are applicable only until the end of September. From October 2019, they are expected to increase by Rs 1.8 lakh.

The other notable difference between the two Corporate Editions we have received this year is that they are not exclusive to existing Skoda customers anymore. Frankly, that should have always been the case. Anyway, the Superb Corporate Edition carries the same number of toys as the Style and is mechanically identical too. The number of colour options for the Corporate Edition tops out at two – Candy White and Magnetic Brown.

Do not fancy the Superb? Well, you can also have the newly introduced Corporate Edition of the Kodiaq. With a sticker price of Rs 33 lakh, the SUV is only available with the diesel-automatic combination. As you might have guessed, the Kodiaq Corporation Edition is priced and packed the same as its Style variant. That evenness in terms of price, however, will only remain until the end of the month as from October onwards, the Style variant is likely to cost Rs 36.37 lakh. The Corporate Edition is available in four paint shades – Quartz Grey, Moon White, Lava Blue and Magic Black.

Powering the Kodiaq is the same 2.0-litre TDI engine that does duty in the Superb. However, where the sedan has 174hp/350Nm, the SUV makes do with just 148hp/340Nm but has an all-wheel-drive system. In both models, a 7-speed DSG handles transmission duties.

Rivals? The Superb competes with its step-sister – the Volkswagen Passat – and two other models – the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry. The latter two, however, are only available with hybrid powertrains. The Kodiaq, on the other hand, is priced similarly as the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Volkswagen Tiguan.

Note: All prices mentioned above are ex-showroom India.
