During the past few months, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) Has supported the nation in several ways. The list includes Rs 7 crore donation to PM CARES fund, Rs 5 crore donation to Tamil Nadu Chief Ministers Relief Fund, providing COVID-19 Diagnostic Kits worth Rs 4 crore for free and distribution of dry ration as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to state governments of Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. It even joined forces with Air Liquide Medical Systems to increase production and supply of ventilators.

India’s fight against the pandemic is still going on. That means the nation would appreciate all the help it can get to sail through these tough times. To do just that, HMIL has launched the second phase of its COVID-19 CSR program under the ‘Hyundai Cares’ nameplate. From August till December 2020, the company will cater to three main areas – health, education and Clean India.

Falling under the health category will be Project ‘Rakshak’. Starting today, Hyundai will distribute nearly 30,000 made-in-India Khadi masks to the state governments of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Next up is a project called ‘Shikshak’. Practising it, HMIL will give away 1,000 tablet PCs to the children of COVID Warriors from the lower-income group. All those hand-held devices will boast two years of the academic course curriculum.

The third project carries the name ‘Grameen Sanitisation’. Like ‘Shikshak’, this too will go live from next month. Under it, HMIL will disinfect 292 districts/tehsils across the length and breadth of India. How? A mobile van, loaded with MoH-approved (Ministry of Health) disinfectants, will sanitise public spaces. Sure, India is a vast country. However, such steps will not only renew faith in people’s minds but also encourage other privately-owned firms to come forward and help in minimising the negative impact. What do you think of Hyundai’s efforts?
