Do you call yourself a future thinker? Or, maybe a social innovator? Whatever the case, Hyundai Motor India wants your attention. The company has launched something called H-Social Creator. Through this platform, it wants graduate and post-graduate students to submit ideas which can potentially bring about a significant social change.

What kind of ideas?

Well, they should broadly fall in one of three categories – Road Safety, Environment and Clean India.

Where do I start?

Hyundai has chosen five cities to kickstart the H-Social Creator program. They are Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai. So, if you are a resident in any of those locations, you can visit here and submit one or multiple entries. The company will be entertaining 60-second videos or a one-page document per entry. If for any reason you cannot visit that website, Hyundai will also accept entries (both kinds) via WhatsApp. Here’s the number: 961-961-5115. Make sure that you provide necessary demographic details such as name, address, phone number, age, college and the current academic status.

How do I structure my idea and till when I can submit it?

The company has laid down a simple, five-step methodology. Here’s the order – sympathise; define the problem; ideation; planning/prototyping; and pilot/test. In this manner, your idea will cover all the basics. The last day of application submission is October 23, 2019.

What is the selection process?

All submitted applications will go through an assessment on some critical parameters, such as innovation, sustainability, reach, and social impact. The ones which fulfil basic requirements will enter the shortlist. Next, a mentoring session for the shortlisted applicants will take place. They will then be invited to submit a detailed plan for their ideas. At a ceremony in November this year, Hyundai will announce the winner.

What happens if my idea becomes the chosen one?

The Hyundai Motor India Foundation will sanction a seed capital funding of Rs 15 lakh for your idea. Not just that, your plan will get ground implementation as well.

If all of the above was too much for you to digest in plain text, here’s a video that explains everything:
