After unveiling the refreshed GLC and GLC Coupé earlier this year, the three-pointed star from Germany has now taken the wraps off the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC siblings – the SUV and the Coupé. India, as it currently does, is likely to receive the latter form only. That being said, both GLC 43 iterations pack the same kit and powertrain. The only and obvious difference is in their appearances.

Right then, let’s get on with it. The revamped Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé gets revised front and rear fascias, new headlamps and taillamps and oval quad exhaust outlets. As standard, it will come with 19-inch alloy wheels but those can be upgraded up to 21 inches in size with five designs to choose from. Inside the cabin, it features a new steering wheel, accompanied by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the latest version of MBUX system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. The carmaker has also introduced a number of new upholstery options.

Under the bonnet is the same 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 engine, mated to a 9-speed, AMG-spec automatic transmission. However, the engine has been upgraded to produce an extra 23PS to take the total up to 390PS. The peak torque figure at 520Nm remains the same as before. All the oomph is transferred to the road via a rear-biased (31:69) all-wheel-drive system. The setup is enough for a zero to 100kmph sprint time of 4.9 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 250kmph. For the record, the pre-facelift model had the same performance figures.

As before, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé will come to India via the CBU route. And that is expected to happen by the end of 2019. Mercedes-Benz India is likely to put a price tag of around Rs 80 lakh on the refreshed, high-riding coupé.
