Chances are you’ve already read about the MG Gloster. Also, you might know that official bookings opened last month and that it will launch sometime in October 2020. But, do you know everything about the SUV’s package? Do you know how many trim levels will it come in? And, what all features each of those derivatives will offer? Well, this article sums it all up, without being too dull. So, without further ado, here we go!

Powertrains

The Gloster comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Depending on the variant, the powerplant comes with one turbocharger or two of them. With one, the total output comes out at 161bhp/375Nm, and those figures shoot up to 215bhp/480Nm with an additional turbo. And, if you want a 4WD (Four-Wheel-Drive) system in the mix, you’ll have to settle for the punchier engine.

Rivals

The Gloster will compete with the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4 and the Toyota Fortuner. Although not as rough-and-tough as those but the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace also falls in the same price bracket.

How do you like the MG Gloster? Do you think that, if priced right, it can dismantle the competition?
