Ford India’s flagship SUV, the Endeavour, has received an upward price revision. As before, it is available in a total of three variants – 2.2L Titanium 4×2 MT, 2.2L Titanium+ 4×2 AT and 3.2L Titanium+ 4×4 AT. From April 1, 2019, their price tags have been revised to Rs 28.20 lakh, Rs 31.33 lakh and Rs 33.70 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi), respectively. While the least-expensive variant now costs Rs 10,000 more, prices for the remaining two variants have been increased by Rs 73,000.

It was in February this year when Ford India introduced the refreshed Endeavour. While it remained mechanically unchanged, it did receive a few cosmetic changes as well as some additional features. The new additions included keyless-entry-and-go, hands-free boot opening, 8-way electrically adjustable front seats and puddle lamps. Ford also discontinued the Trend trim to keep the line-up as crisp as possible.

The Ford Endeavour is available with two engine options – a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel and a 3.2-litre, 5-cylinder turbo-diesel. While the former is tuned to produce 160PS/385Nm, the latter pumps out 200PS/470Nm. Both engines can be had with a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, only the smaller of the two can also be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. As far as the 4×4 drivetrain is concerned, it is reserved for the range-topping variant only.

As you’d expect, the Endeavour comes with bucket-loads of creature comforts. The list includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Ford’s SYNC3 tech, active noise cancellation, ambient lighting, HID headlamps, LED DRLs, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, power-folding third row of seats, semi-auto parallel park assist and a 10-speaker sound system. On the safety front, the SUV has features like seven airbags, a rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill launch control, ABS with EBD, auto headlamps and wipers, Ford MyKey and hill descent control.

Diesel-Fed Fords Won’t Disappear Post BSVI Implementation

The Endeavour’s list of rivals includes Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Mahindra Alturas G4. Other SUVs which fall in the same sort of price bracket includes the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan, Honda CR-V and the Mitsubishi Outlander.
