When it comes to introducing new consumer-centric initiatives, Hyundai Motor India is right up there amongst the best players. A prime example would be the online car buying platform – Click To Buy. It became the first in the country that eradicated the need to visit a bank for loan approval. One can do everything online, right from booking a car to taking delivery at home.

To add another feather in its hat, the South Korean carmaker has launched something called ‘Hyundai Mobility Membership’. The initiative offers customers “exclusive benefits” for their car and non-car needs. At the moment, Hyundai has joined forces with more than 20 brands to devise and provide offers. They’ve been segregated under three categories:

  1. Core Car
  2. Mobility
  3. Lifestyle

Companies like JK Tyre and Shell fall in the first category. The second one comprises of ride-hailing service brands like Revv, ZoomCar and Avis. At the moment, the “Lifestyle” segment has the highest number of brands, including Easydiner, Gaana, Zee5, OYO, Lenskart and Chaayos. So, is there a fee attached to enrol into the membership? No. It is free of cost and doesn’t have an expiry date. Obviously, there are a set of terms and conditions, which will bring some order to the initiative.

But who can get it? Presently, Hyundai is offering this membership to every customer who purchases a car on or after August 13, 2020. To enrol, customers need to download the Hyundai Mobility Membership application, which is available on both Android’s Play Store and iOS’ App Store. Fill in a form, select interests, and that’s it.

Nothing for existing Hyundai customers? In this regard, no. But, Hyundai is working to widen the scope of the membership. In the next phase of the said initiative, all existing owners of Hyundai cars will be able to enrol as well. The company has also confirmed that the tie-up with brands will increase over time. What do you think about Hyundai’s latest after-sales program?
